In business more than 25 years, we currently employ about 30 painters and office staff, working all year round, primarily in the East suburbs. Crews generally work from 8am-6pm, modified for weather; 8-10 hour days allow us flexibility to complete 40 hour weeks, since we can't work outside on rain-days. In Winter, we shift to mostly indoor work, w/ a few crews doing ice-removal.

Our company has never missed a payroll; our employees get paychecks every 2 weeks like clock-work. Want overtime? It's available for the asking, especially during peak season and for those w/ many skills! Advancement for those that can handle the work is fast, and we are always looking for those w/ the "foreman" ability - the ability to manage others is NOT a common skill.

We expect... all employees to have a basic working knowledge of the painting business - you must be able to handle ladders safely, work at heights, know how to drop off the work site, prep, prime and use brushes correctly. More importantly, are you reliable? You must always show up at the job on time, put in an honest days work! Unavoidably late? Sick? OK, if it doesn't happen often AND YOU CALL AHEAD! Mike says "We can teach you painting skills, but not how to wake up each day!" Employees are responsible to get to the job on their own - mostly on the East side. A job will typically last a week.

We pride ourselves on the demeanor and dress of employees - this is a selling point to our customers. Painters wear whites, roofers/carpenters clean work pants. Company shirts provided; no charge unless you lose them or quit in the first month. Our workers are neat, polite around customers and keep the work sites cleaned up at all times - our customers never come home to a driveway of paint shavings or find cigarettes in their garden!

Pay rates? Your initial rate of pay is determined by the skills and experience you bring in! We start at $8 for somebody who we see can handle a ladder, tell the difference between a latex or oil brush, maybe painted a bedroom or two for his parents. Our highest starting rate is $12 - for experienced painters who also can glaze windows, do carpentry, tilework etc. plus shows ability to manage small jobs solo.
